NewbieAt50 does Dirty Business 2 - Getting Wet and Dirty

Late last year, one of the very first articles I wrote was about this event - Dirty Business 2.  A repeat from last year’s Dirty Business, this years staging aims to be bigger with more rivers, sponsors, participants and activities.
This year’s edition was similarly scheduled on the 1st sunday of the year, I think this is perfect for riders who are itching for a ride after the holidays.  There were at least 300 riders who registered for the event.  Meet up was the Shell Gasoline Station along Marcos Hiway, a familiar meeting place for motorcycle and bicycle riders travelling to the east of the city.
The group began to ride out at 7 AM with the assistance of assigned marshalls and guides.  Due to the large number of participants, there were several re-group points along the way to ensure the group remains as tight as possible.  The route was thru the scenic and challenging Marilaque highway to Tanay.
Upon reaching the access road to Laiban, the group turned right with an accent on a well paved road which after sometime turned to a bumpy farm access road.  Soon, there was traffic as you can see the participants have suddenly stopped.
it was because our 1st river crossing was in front of us.  Why stop?  Well, around 80% of the participants are non-offroaders on street bikes so we were on unfamiliar terrain.   Seeing some successful  on the challenge of crossing the river, slowly each and everyone tried crossing their prized rides amidst the upto knee-deep water.  There were a total of 3 rivers to cross with a hanging bridge at the end to start your way back.
After the offroad experience, the group rode back to KRB Offroad track in Antipolo for the 2nd half of the festivities.  Here we saw the venue dressed up by various sponsors who were very happy to welcome the group from the ride.  Sponsors were either giving out good deals on products or giving out premium items to participants.  This was on top of the numerous raffle prizes that were given out that day.
There were also fun activities in the area such as Test Rides by Honda, Offroad Gymkana by TVS and lastly a unique reverse race that was quite funny.
Kudos to Mr. Telly Buhay and the rest of Turban Rider group for a very successful event.

Can’t wait for Dirty Business 3.
