Your Helmet is Your Most Important Gear

I was pretty much into bicycles over the past ten years.  I still own a Japanese bike, a mountain bike, folding bike and a road bike.  Even if these pedal powered toys don’t go as fast as your motorcycle, it's always encouraged to wear a quality helmet. I've  always made sure to get a good quality helmet, they may come out more costly but as I always say, “how much is the price of your head?”
Hence, if you’re able to spend on that motorcycle, make sure you spend good money on your helmet. And yes, it’s a legal requirement for every rider to wear a helmet that pass safety standards.  Make sure your helmets are rated by DOT, SNELL, ECE or their equivalent.
It is important that it fits you well.  Not to loose that it's able to move around or spin that may eventually impair your vision.  Not too tight that it may also feel very uncomfortable.
Also, note that it is advisable to change your helmet after a strong impact or a drop as this may compromise its effectiveness.
Depending on your choice, there are open face, full face and modular helmets.  They all have their distinct advantages.  My choice is a full face helmet as it provides the most protection.
I've chosen the Spyder Rev as it matches the motorbikes colorway. It also comes with a dual visor which is perfect for someone like me who wears glasses in my helmet. The design also comes with ventilation ports in front, top and back sides for additional airflow even when the visor is down. The chin straps is also quick release so you can undo it with one hand.  Spyder Helmets is a Filipino brand that has been in making helmets for 30 years.  Lasting this long in a very competitive industry only means they have good products.  Value for money here.

This is how NOT to wear your helmets.
